PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN BERBAHASA MELALUI PENERAPAN METODE BERCERITA SISWA KELAS 1 SDN NGADIMULYO I KECAMATAN SUKOREJO KABUPATEN PASURUAN

Every student have the different language ability that is spoken language and written language. But, now the students more able write than speak something. This happened not because the student haven’t spoken skill, but the student haven’t more confidence to speak in front of class. It’s happened in first grade on SDN Ngadimulyo I Sukorejo Pasuruan, the students still have low language ability. So, there is need to improve the language ability through application story telling methods. This research aims to know the spoken skill of language ability through the story telling methods in first grade on SDN Ngadimulyo I and to describe application the story telling methods to improve student’s spoken skill in first grade on SDN Ngadimulyo I. This research used qualitative approach and the type of research is class action research. As the data sources are 20 students of first grade students on SDN Ngadimulyo Sukorejo Pasuruan 2016/2017. This research is implemented by researcher on Januari 2017 in three cycles. It used 3 aggregation techniques are observation, interview, and documentation. The results of this research show that the application of story telling methods can improve student’s language ability, especially spoken skill. It’s showed by the increase total students who gets score above average on the assessment of spoken skill in each cycles. First cycles, there is 5 students can complete from 20 students in class. Second cycles, there is 11 students can complete from 20 students in class. The last cycles, there is 16 students can complete from 20 students in class. This increase is result of application the story telling methods. It’s suggested to used as learning methods because it can maximize student’s language ability especially spoken skill
