MAKNA DAN SIKAP KELUARGA DALAM MENGHADAPI MASALAH STUNTING PADA ANAK (Studi Kasus di Desa Penambangan, Kecamatan Semanding, Kabupaten Tuban)

This study aims to examine the meaning and attitudes of families in dealing with the problem of stunting in children in the Penambangan Village which in 2021 reached a percentage of 19.8%, namely 68 children from 343 children who were weighed making the village the village with the highest stunting rate in Semanding District. Stunting is a nutritional problem in children that can have a negative impact in the short and long term. These problems will affect the level of intelligence, decreased immunity, decreased productivity, and delayed growth. The research method used in writing this thesis is to use a qualitative research method with a case study approach. The technique of determining the subject used purposive sampling. Collecting data through direct interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis technique obtained will be analyzed by coding and placing the data based on the suitability of the theme. Furthermore, the data were grouped based on the similarity of the themes and analyzed manually by the researcher to identify the final results of the study. This research was analyzed using Herbert Blummer's theory of symbolic interactionism. The results showed that families interpreted stunting as an unexpected condition that needed attention and could be overcome; as a test, a challenge, and a warning from God; and interpreted as a normal and natural nutritional problem. From this meaning, it encourages families to determine attitudes to deal with the problem of stunting in children. The attitude shown by the family in this study is to play an active role in the growth and health of children, strive to fulfill nutrition in children, give more attention to children, and have a big heart. And families who interpret stunting as a normal and natural thing will show an apathetic attitude towards the fulfillment of nutrition and child growth
