Work overload due to work demands that exceed individual capacity can lead to work stress on employees. Work stress that lasts a long time can result in decreased performance, truant behavior, to physical fatigue in employees. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of excessive workload on work stress in community advisors. This study used a causalquantitative research design, using a purposive sampling technique. The subjects of this study were 150 community counselors in the East Java region. The research instrument used was the workload overload scale based on the theory proposed by Manuaba and the work stress scale based on the Luthans theory.
