GAMBARAN STRES PENGASUHAN PADA ORANG TUA YANG MEMILIKI ANAK TUNADAKSA

Raising a child with disabilities can cause parenting stress for parents. Parents who feel exhausted by the demands of additional care, feel stigmatized by their children's limitations, socially isolated, and burdened by the financial costs of parenting may experience greater difficulties. This condition has the potential to create parenting stress on parents. Parenting stress is a negative reaction felt by parents due to the demands of being a parent. The purpose of this study was to describe the level of parenting stress on parents who have children with physical disabilities. This research is quantitative descriptive. The subjects of this study are fathers and mothers who have biological children with physical disabilities and the subject has children with disabilities who attend school in an institution (school) or are members of a community. The respondents of this study were 100 parents. The data collection in this study was using the Parenting Stress Scale. The data analysis method used descriptive statistical analysis and independent sample t-test. The results showed that parents who have children with disabilities are more likely to experience high parenting stress. There was no difference in the level of parenting stress between fathers and mothers. Parenting stress is caused by the parent's own factor, the child's factor and the interaction factor between the child and the parent
