THE STUDENTS PERCEPTION IN LEARNING ENGLISH USING YOUTUBE VIDEO AT SMAN 7 MALANG (A Study Towards the grade XI-MIPA 3 on the 2021/2022 Academic Year)

The use of information technology is increasing. YouTube is consicedered to be a form of communication technology. Implementation of YouTube has a beneficial effect on learning, allowing students to improve their English ability However, there are difficulties with English learning using YouTube video. Students’ perception are needed to know the use of YouTube for learning English. The aim of this study is to find out students’ perception in using YouTube video as learning media and to describe the dominant perception felt by students when using YouTube Video as learning media at the grade XI-MIPA 3 of the SMAN 7 Malang. Qualitative descriptive is used in this study by doing observation and analyzing the questionnaire. There are 12 open-ended questions in the questionnaire. Each question consist of three component of students’ perception. The majority of students have favorable attitudes toward using YouTube videos as a learning medium for English. This is dictated by cognitive, affective, and conative factors. Then, the most prevalent perception felt by students, namely the cognitive aspect, namely students' positive perceptions of learning English through YouTube videos
