An Analysis Of Accuracy Level Of U-Dictionary In Bahasa Indonesia-English Translation

Translations are the method of human communication using spoken or written words, people can not talk with foreigners that have a different language. That is the reason why people have difficulties with other people that come from different countries. For example, Indonesia is our country, and Bahasa Indonesia is our mother language and daily communication surely differs from English. Based on the problems people need a translator or attractive application that can help them to solve. In this research, the researcher uses U-Dictionary as a machine translator. This research was conducted to find out (1) The accuracy level of U-Dictionary in Bahasa Indonesia-English translation and (2) The aspects of accuracy level of U-Dictionary in Bahasa Indonesia-English translation. This study applied descriptive qualitative, the data were taken by questionnaire, the instruments in this research is interview essay, data card, and datasheet applied as data accuracy. The results show that 70,4% which indicates the aspects of accuracy are grammatical structure, communication scenario, and cultural context. The translation of all of the texts is inaccurate since the percentage of accurate sentences occurrence in the texts is less than 100%
