Asuhan Keperawatan Pada Tn.W Dengan Efusi Pleura di Ruang Seruni - RSU Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang

Background : Pleural effusion is a secondary disease caused by other diseases characterized by a condition in which an excessive amount of fluid builds up in the pleural cavity. According to the Indonesian Ministry of Health, pleural effusion cases account for 2.7% of other respiratory tract infections. This final scientific paper aims to analyze medical nursing care for patients with pleural effusion problems during one week of practice in the Seruni Room at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang. Method : The research design used is a case study report on a patient with post-covid-19 pleural effusion following the scientific method according to the rules of the nursing process which includes: assessment, data analysis, nursing intervention, implementation and evaluation. Results : After nursing care for 3 days, the authors found 3 nursing problems, namely: 1) ineffective breathing patterns, 2) disturbed sleep patterns, 3) self-care deficits: bathing. Of the 3 nursing problems, the diagnosis of ineffective breathing patterns was resolved, the diagnosis of sleep pattern disorders and the self-care deficit were partially resolved. Discussion : Of the three nursing problems that arise, namely the priority diagnosis of ineffective breathing patterns, the second is a sleep pattern disorder, and the third is a self-care deficit: bathing. The interventions that have been carried out on the patient are airway management, sleep support, and self-care support: bathing. Implementation is carried out in accordance with the nursing plan. The evaluations obtained were complaints of shortness of breath disappear, complaints of difficulty sleeping decreased and the ability to bathe had not increased
