peer reviewedThis chapter is part of a handbook on sustainable development. It examines the traditional descrepancies that exist between anti-poverty policies and rural development strategies, especially in emerging economies, such as Mexico. This chapter analyzes the Sembrando Vida social integration program in Mexico through a policy coherence for development (PCD) framework. It shows how the program needs to be better contextualized in other policy arenas in order to guarantee its success.GAMMA-UL Chair for Regional Integration and Sustainability/I-GAMM
