We present an axiomatic study of a method to automate ethical AI decision making. We consider two different but very intuitive notions of when an alternative is preferred over another, namely {\it pairwise majority} and {\it position} dominance. Voter preferences are learned through a permutation process and then aggregation rules are applied to obtain results that are socially considered to be ethically correct. In this setting we find many voting rules that satisfy desirable properties for an autonomous system
