A multi-objective routing problem for perishable items in a disaster relief

International audienceResearches and information available shows that the number of natural disasters is increasing dramatically; hence disaster management is become as one of the most important topics. In this study, in order to manage effectively the logistics activities in cases of natural disaster, a comprehensive study of a multi-objective vehicle routing problem model for perishable items are proposed. The expiration date of goods and time windows have to be also taken into account. In this case, respecting short life shelf of highly perishable items, as blood or blood derivative products, and some pharmaceutical products, as well as disaster situation change the classical routing problem form, principally based on cost optimization, in to service level maximization and time optimization. With this aim, a multi-objective routing problem has been developed. The first objective in this situation is to maximize satisfaction and covering their demands and the second objective is to minimize the total time needed to transfer perishable goods. Finally, proposed resolution approach and a numerical example solved by using CPLEX 12.6, illustrate the procedure of the presented model
