The association between thyroid hormones and mood disorders in pregnancy and postpartum is not clearly established, regardless the considerable changes in the hypothalamic-pituitary thyroid (HPT) axis activity during these periods. This study aimed to examine potential associations between mood disorders and thyroid function, as well as serum cortisol, during pregnancy and postpartum in the same cohort of 93 pregnant women studied prospectively from 2015 to 2017.
