The problem being addressed in this project is that science classrooms are not engaging enough to hold students\u27 attention and this is lowering the number of students in STEM majors and careers, especially marginalized groups. Data and research show that the world has an increasing need for people in STEM fields and the current data suggest that there are not enough qualified people in these fields or studying to enter these fields in the future. Research has also shown that there are ways to increase the amount of interest in STEM courses and most teachers will be able to tweak their current curriculum to meet these needs.
