The role of participatory communities all over the world calls for new models and tools to support citizens in taking part in decisions about the design and planning of urban design. Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) can be the basis for effective ways of participation for citizens and for helping them achieve a more active role in society. This paper describes e-ILAUD, a tool inspired to the principles of the International Laboratory of Architecture and Urban Design (ILAUD), aiming at improving citizen participation and co-create solutions, which is currently being experimented through case studies such as Milano - DERGANO and Genova-CORNIGLIANO experiences
