Enhancing the energy efficiency of structures has been a staple of energy policies. The key goal is to slash electricity usage in order to minimize the footprint of houses. This goal is sought by putting restrictions on the design specifications with respect to the properties of the raw materials and components as well as the exploitation of sustainable sources of energy.
