Secularity, positivism, positivist secularism and Turkey

According to the author of this study, positivism of the nineteenth century shaped one aspect of the intellectual content of Turkish secularism. In this study, it is also intended to conceptualize secularity and to define its dimensions. Furthermore, the issues of Islam and secularity, and secular dimensions in the Ottoman classical age were discussed. According to the author, Turkish positivist secularism is related with both of these issues. While doing so, this study attempted to consider Turkish secularism in the context of modernization problem.Usul, Ali ResulM.S
