International audienceA study of the evolution of school textbooks allows one to follow ideological and political changes in the franquist regime, along with the transition to democracy. Under Franquism there always was prerequisite authorisation of textbooks - in the early years, it was characterised by rigorous control and censorship (both religious and political) ; in later times, if less harsh, it never stopped insisting on the incorporation into textbooks of the essential principles of the regime. All the same, the ideological weight of the regime gradually lightened, distancing itself from an increasing preoccupation in texts with technical developments and modernity.
