In torrent risks engineering, the practitioners are at present confronted with a problem of management linked to the misunderstanding of the sediment volumes mobilized by the floods. Generally, the studies trying to estimate these volumes of sediment concern either the detrital production of slopes, or the sediment supply only in exit of the basin, but rarely the evaluation of the deposit-erosion along the talweg; they do not thus supply satisfactory methods of sediment volume estimation.
