International audienceBased on a sample of written productions of 66 young deaf people attending secondary school, we aim to assess their level of skill in terms of mastery of written French. Using a corpus analysis in the four discursive genres, this assessment is supplemented by oral interviews collected from the same speakers, in the same discursive genres and in the oral language of their choice (French or LSF). We aim to establish the gap in the level of literacy of deaf speakers relative to academic norms and to determine their level of proficiency within their specific framework, which requires an understanding of the specific cognitive processes involved in the acquisition and learning of reading and writing of the French language b...
