National audienceThis work aims to improve the performance of an image transmission system over a highly noisy wireless channel. To this end, we propose a joint source-channel decoding based on soft-inputs decoding techniques. This scheme involves the serial concatenation of a Soft-In Soft-Out Reed Solomon decoder and a Soft-Input arithmetic decoder that were integrated into the JPWL (JPEG2000 Wireless) decoder. Simulation results illustrate good performance improvements compared to classical decoding schemes
