National audienceIn Normandy, like in the northwest of France, valleys contain singular landscapes. Those are important in the structure of the regional landscape, and present an important landscape diversity. In order to characterize this landscape and measure their diversity, we propose a process which can be generalized to realize a regional diagnosis. This methodology aims (1) to measure the landscape internal diversity at “tronçon” scale – a homogeneous morphologic unit isolated longitudinally and consisting of a bottom valley and two slopes; and (2) to evaluate the singularity of this landscape in comparison to the environment in which it is inserted.
