International audienceSome “flash floods” with high suspended content affect at the end of spring and during the summer some parts of the Paris Basin, in north-western France, causing dramatic human and property damage: 269 events have been induced by 79 high rains between 1983 and 2005. Such events are the most dangerous form of floods encountered in this area because of their torrential nature.
