Staphylococcus aureus is a commensal bacterium of the skin able to quickly develop or acquire multiple resistances to antibiotics. It is responsible for 16% of nosocomial infections that make it a major public health issue worldwide. Its virulence is multifactoral and involves proteins and regulatory RNAs. One of them, the SprC RNA, decreases virulence and S. aureus internalisation by human monocytes and macrophages (Le Pabic et al., 2015). Le Pabic and al., showed that SprC interferes with S. aureus phagocytosis in part by monitoring expression of the Autolysin (Atl), a protein involved in S. aureus internalisation.
