This Ph.D. thesis focuses on the analysis and modeling of non-synchronous aeroelastic phenomena in a research axial multi-stage compressor for helicopter engines. When operating at part-speed conditions, flow structures are complex, thus facilitating the development of various unsteady phenomena. Under those particular aerodynamic conditions, the rotor blades can develop a structural vibration mode which eventually lead to premature fatigue or critical failure. Non-synchronous vibrations differ from flutter, buffeting or synchronous forced response. This aeroelastic phenomenon is still an ongoing research subject.
