This thesis deals with the analysis, design and implementation of multidimensional (n-D) state space digital systems. The objectives are to develop stability conditions for linear n-D systems and nonlinear n-D systems due to finite wordlength effects, to investigate the global roundoff noise and coefficient sensitivity of linear n-D systems, to study the design and implementation of 2-D linear phase infinite impulse response (IIR) filters, and to present important properties of lossless n-D digital systems
