The present manual offers to policymakers and practitioners a comprehensive and ready-to-use toolkit for the design, choice, and assessment of differentiated integration scheme. On the one hand, it distils the policy-relevant insights of academic research on differentiation and other forms of flexibility in a clear, synthetic, and accessible form, with thematic suggestions for further readings and evidence-based recommendations.
