Methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) and ethyl tert-butyl ether (ETBE) are mainly used as additives togasoline in order to enhance the combustion efficiency. As an assignment from the SwedishEnvironmental Protection Agency, IVL has performed a screening study of MTBE and ETBE.
