This round cream-ware plate with a foliated rim decorated with a cord and orange fruit border pattern has two portraits from the side of Willem V and his Queen surrounded by a leaf scroll and a burning candle between them. Below the Queen are the letters FSW and below Willem the letters PVOR. Above the figures is the inscription: “ik brand Ligt / Voor de Pruis Zijn Nigt / En ook voor de Oranje Spruit / Die Het Niet wil Zien / die blaast Het Uit” (I burn a candle / for the the Prussian Girl / as well as the Child of the House of Orange / those who doesn’t like it must try to stop it).
