Obtaining the consent of a patient is at the centre of medical practice and as such medical practitioners need to ensure proper patient’s approval in the administration of medical services or prescription of medical products. Informing a patient about the medical implications involved in the procedure they are about to undergo is not sufficient as patient needs to be fully engaged. The transcendence beyond informed consent to shared or dynamic consent is the core focus of discussion in this work.
