This presentation was delivered at the LIASA-IGBIS Webinar: 'Contextualising data: shaping the roles, functions, and competencies of metadata practitioners in the organisation of information resources for the digital era' on 6 October 2020. It gives an overview of scholarly communications and typical scholarly communication activities in libraries and highlight these with examples from the University of Pretoria Library Services.
