Intensitas Bermedia Sosial dan Self Awareness pada Remaja

The use of Social Media is very influential to the selfawareness of individuals in the surrounding environment. When adolescents access social media with high intensity, then indirect interactions that will result in direct social interactions are less and sensitivity to the environment tends to be low. This can be influenced by low selfawareness in individuals. This study aims to find the relationship of the intensity of social media usage to selfawareness in East Lombok adolescents. This study has a sample of 100 adolescents are obtained through Slovin’s formula using simple random sampling technique. The data collection tool uses the intensity scale of social media use proposed by Anggi (2012), and the self-awareness scale using the theoretical aspects proposed by Boyatzis (1999). Hypothesis testing using the Product Moment Person technique with Microsoft for Windows version 2007 and IMB SPSS version 23.0 for Windows. Based on the results of statistical calculations, it was found that the intensity of social media use has a relationship with self-awareness ( p =0.00 < 0.05) and there is a negative relationship between the intensity of social media use and self-awareness because the frequency value is -0.569. This means that low selfawareness behavior is related to the high intensity of social media use in adolescents
