In this proceeding, I present the results of a recent global fit of an effective field theory of dark matter, performed using the Global and Modular Beyond-the-Standard Model Inference Tool (GAMBIT). A Dirac fermion dark matter candidate is assumed to interact only with Standard Model quarks and gluons, through a general set of operators up to mass dimension 7. The results provide a reasonably up-to-date summary of our knowledge of possible WIMP interactions.Comment: Contribution to the 2022 QCD session of the 56th Rencontres de Morion
