THE ENGLISH STUDENTS’ PERCEPTION TOWARD THE IMPACT OF USING INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT OF LEARNING ENGLISH ON STUDENTS’ VOCABULARY LEARNING

Keywords: Students’ Perception, English Learning Account on Instagram, Vocabulary. Instagram is one of the popular social media used by people all over the world. Instagram has been used by some Instagram user for learning media. One of them is English learning account. There are many accounts which share about English learning content for example vocabulary. The aim of this study is to investigate students’ perception toward Instagram as a media for English language learning and students’ experience in learning vocabulary through Instagram. This study was conducted in 2018 students or 8th semester of English Education Department in UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung. This design of this research was a quantitative method. Data from this research are collected from the questionnaire. Questionnaires were distributed to 72 students who had selected randomly as the participant of this study. The researcher used descriptive statistic to analyze the quantitative data . The results of this study indicated that 85.80% of students strongly agreed with the use of the Instagram account @english_learning_everyday in learning vocabulary and 82.80% of students have a positive perception or positive impact obtained after learning English vocabulary using the Instagram account @english_learning_everyday. They have a good experienced during learning vocabulary through Instagram. According to participants arguments the researcher found that all respondents felt enjoyable experience through English learning account on Instagram. All respondents perceive that English learning account on Instagram was good for supporting students’ vocabulary learning. It is a good media for English learning vocabulary. The conclusion of this research was most of the students have a positive feedback toward the use of English learning account for increase their vocabulary. Regarding to the use English learning account on Instagram all students felt that English learning account on Instagram is an attractive platform that help them in increase their vocabulary
