This qualitative study explored the experiences of seven women who had left their emotionally abusive relationships, using an inductive approach of thematic analysis. Within the field of intimate partner violence (IPV), considerable research has been conducted on the leaving processes of women. Despite this volume of research, little is known about how women who have been subject solely to emotional abuse end their relationships; this leaves a noticeable gap in the literature.
