Methods of systematic control structure design are adapted to suit industrial workflow of plant design and engineering in the chemical and process industry. The applied methods include a systematic step-wise design methodology and the concept of self-optimizing control. Implementation of these methods is performed in a commercial software framework that consists of Aspen Plus and MatLab.
