The lateralization index (LI) as determined from functional transcranial Doppler sonography (fTCD) can be used to determine the hemispheric organization of neural activation during a behavioral task. Previous studies have proposed different methods to determine this index, but to our knowledge no studies have compared the performance of these methods.
