ABSTRAK Modernization with all its changes offers positive and negative impacts. One of the fundamental negative impacts is the emergence of a hedonic lifestyle. This pattern of life is of course rejected by Islamic teachings, especially when viewed from the perspective of Sufism with the concept of zuhud in it. However, zuhud tends not to get high appreciation among modern Muslims. Because, zuhud is often understood as an attitude that totally rejects worldly possessions. In fact, there is a concept of zuhud that can be applied in tandem with modernity, namely the concept of zuhud Abu Hasan Asy-Syadzily. This research is a qualitative research, which takes library research as its type. This study uses a Sufistic philosophical approach to analyze the issues raised. The main source of this research is the book entitled Risalah al-Amin fi al-Wushulli Rabb al Alamin, Madrasah Syadziliyyah, and Lathoiful Minan. Data collection in this study used documentation, and to analyze the data. obtained, the authors use data reduction, data analysis, and data presentation as steps. From this research, the writer found several conclusions. First, Asy-Syadzily's view of zuhud is about how to act when we have worldly possessions. ABSTRACT Ash-Syadzily gives an exception to those whose hearts are not attached to the existence of worldly treasures. it is not forbidden to have worldly possessions. The emphasis on the concept of high gratitude is also one of the characteristics of this zuhud concept. This is shown by meeting all the needs of the body first. and no other demands after that. Second, the basis of the Asy-Syadzily zuhud concept is in QS. Al-Qashash verse 24 which has a hidden meaning through the story of the Prophet Musa and Al-A'rof verse 32 which gives an understanding that the luxury of the world is something that is not forbidden in it. Third, the concept of zuhud Asy-Syadzily has implications for the way modern society positions itself in dealing with worldly possessions.
