A Retrospective Approach to Comparative Research of Religious and Cultural Traditions of Russian and Czech NationsBased on Educational Literature for Czech School Students

This bachelor thesis will deal with the description, analysis and comparison of the main holidays of the Czech Republic and Russia in order to establish similarities and differences between them. Moreover, significant religious and secular holidays, such as Christmas, New Year, Shrovetide and Easter will be considered in details. The research involves the study of the historical and religious prerequisites for the emergence and holding these holidays, the analysis of the development of traditions and customs in the historical context, as well as a description of the celebration of these holidays at the present time. The analysis of educational literature dedicated to the Russian language for primary and secondary schools will make it possible to draw a conclusion about the intensity and depth of presentation of material about Russians traditions to Czech school children.
