This thesis deals with CCS technology. In the first part, the main greenhouse gas carbon dioxide is described. The second part focuses on the description of the CCS technology and possible methods of capturing carbon dioxide and other gases. The third part is devoted to the calculations for the application of CCS technology, specifically the high-temperature carbonate loop, to a real lignite-fired power plant. At the end of the thesis is the overall balance of the power plant, which includes a comparison with and without the use of CCS technology
