This Bachelor’s Thesis deals with the composition of lithium batteries, lithium cell joining, and the design of a device customised for contacting an 18650-size cylindrical cell. The first part discusses the construction, basic materials of the lithium batteries and their applications. In the next section, an overview of several methods of cell contacting and their comparison with each other is presented. The last section discusses different parts of the design and construction of the device, working on the principle of spot resistance welding
