Children's centre as a freetime activity for parents and their children

This paper describes the issue of women on maternity leave from diferent perspectives, such as a woman's position in society, her relationship with a partner, her financial situation, her possition in the work place and the raising of children. We also describe the operation of children's centres in general and the organization and activities of one particular children's centre. The aim of this work is to test the hypothesis that the activities at a specific children's centre can eliminate feelings of social and psychological isolation of mothers on maternity leave. A further aim is to show to what extend the activities of a particular children's centre satisfy the needs of its current users
