Regional development of mortality in the Czech Republic by selected causes of deaths in the period 1994-2009 Abstract The bachelor thesis deals with description and analyze of regional differences of mortality in the Czech Republic during 1994-2009. The objective of this study was to find particular trends and show differences in various regions of the Czech Republic. General trend of mortality decrease was influenced by increasing standard of living and improving quality of health care. It had different intensity in each region of the Czech Republic. The quantification of these differences is main part of this thesis. The standard of mortality was studied separately by the sex in each region. As a basic element of the analysis was used the indicator of standardized mortality rates. This work analyzes three main groups of causes of death: cardiovascular mortality, cancer mortality and external causes.
