The position of women in labour law

Resumé Status of women in labour law The purpose of my thesis is to analyse the status of women in labour law. I chose the subject because, given the high employment of women in the Czech Republic it is still topical and for me as a woman who is preparing to combine the future work and family responsibilities, also very interesting. The thesis consists of six chapters, each dealing with different aspects of the status of women in labour law. Chapter One describes the status of women in society and especially its development from 19 century to the present. Chapter Two examines the historical development of protective legislation and focuses primarily on the adjustment of working conditions of women in the Labour Code of 1965 and its amendments. Chapter Three deals with international organizations and documents relating to the status of women. It consists of two parts. The first deals with the issue of development in this field. The second focuses on the various international organizations, namely the United Nations, the International Labour Organization and the Council of Europe, and their documents. Chapter Four contains the rules of the European Union, which are in the area of the status of women in labour law as important as international documents, as it also affects the rules of national law.
