Salome and Beheading of Saint John Baptist in Czech Art

Summary: In my work with the theme of New Testament figures Salome in the scene decapitation of St. John the Baptist in Czech art. First, I focused on the literary creation of the tale of Salome in the New Testament and in Jewish antiquities from Joseph Flavia. I also noted the recent literary sources that influenced the artists and their works. The next chapter deals with the iconographic representation of Salome, which has evolved due to foreign artists. Then focuses on selected individual artists who worked with the theme of Salome.
