Abstract

The work presented deals with the development, meaning and forms of support for children's reading. First, I describe the conditions for a wider readership in terms of the book market and libraries during the eighties of the 20th century to the present. Another text focuses on the impact of reading for personal development and on issues related to the influence of the Internet on the reading. The widest section includes ways to promote children's reading in terms of family and school, along with specific activities to support this
