Technical Monuments in Slovakia. Case Study Solivar near Prešov

This diploma thesis investigates the technical monuments in Slovakia with a case study of Solivar near Presov, focusing on the location of the technical monuments and approach taken to them. The thesis is mainly devoted to the current situation and utilization of the complex of technical monuments in Solivar. A literature review from available relevant sources in particular field was conducted and together with a the theory of social exchange and the resort life cycle theory provided a theoretical background for the study. The methodology was based on questionnaire survey and standardized interviews. The analysis of the technical monuments covered their allocation and utilization in Slovakia. The case study explored the history of technical monuments Solivar, their current condition, possibilities and assumptions of their future utilization in tourism.
