Media Ethics Code in EU

The diploma work "Code of Ethics Media EU" deals with possibility of common code of ethics for all media in the EU. Text, except the pursuit of common European values in some of the theoretical concepts of political science and media theory, analyzes the current state laws and media regulation in Europe as well as key decisions on media systems in the European institutions. It deals in detail the determination of the regulatory framework of the European media, the emergence of the first codes and codes of journalistic organizations in Europe. Due to the diversity of issues of morality or ethics the author decided to narrow it down to the codes, issued by journalists' organizations, as news are ultimately what create image of the media. On the basis of these codes author creates common code on the principle of lowest common denominator. In Annex 1 (Příloha 1), the author carried out a thematic comparison of the media 32 media codes.
