Speech prevention in kindergarten

The theoretical part of this thesis deals with issues of speech disorder prevention, speech development in children, the most common articulation disorder - dyslalia and possible ways of its prevention. Further on, I focus on various factors contributing to speech development, on the framework educational programme for pre-school education in relation to language and speech and on the actual speech disorder prevention in the nursery school programme. The practical part discusses ways the primary prevention in nursery schools actually works, if the teachers are given sufficient support in this area and whether common practice corresponds with their vision of an ideal prevention delivery. Results will be collected through a questionnaire, additional interviews and literature analysis. The goal of this work is to map teachers' interest and knowledge in the area of primary speech disorder prevention and its relation to postponement of compulsory school attendance. I focus mainly on the ways the speech disorder prevention is realized in the everyday nursery school programme and on its results. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org
