The impact of the Catholic Church in the Šumperk area during the Communist Regime

Impact of Catholic Church in Šumperk area during communist regime The final thesis describes the life of the Catholic church between 1948-1968 firstly on a nationwide scale and then it focuses on the Šumperk mountain region, especially on the village of Bludov. In the first part the reader should understand how the political regime effected the Church, what the religious submission looked like and what bestialities were committed. The second part was conceived in order to show the impacts of the communist regime on ordinary life of the local people. The most important chapter of this part is dedicated to a law suit with parishioners in the village of Bludov. The law suit was used by the communist regime as a threatening example for the very brave locals. The whole text then refers to the thorough work and the bestiality of the communist government as well as poor existence of the Church over the period of 40 years. The moral of this is to honour all the heroes who rose from this state authority clash with clear conscience. Key words: beasttrial, Church clerk, persecution, totality regime, religious repressio
