In my diplom work I tried to describe two indigenist novels: Bronze race by Alcides Arguedas and Broad and alien is the world by Ciro Alegría. The work is divided in three principal parts: The indigenous people like literary topic in the Andean region, The indigenism like resource of the indigenist novel, Bronze race and Broad and alien is the world. The first part is dedicated to the evolution of the Indian as litarary personage: From the romantic and idealized perspective, through the indianist novel up to the indigenist novel.
