Víra a morální hodnoty sociálního pracovníka v pomáhajících profesích Faith and moral values of social workers in the helping professions Michaela Fiedlerová This bachelor's thesis focuses on the role of faith and values in social work, highlights areas where religion and spirituality are already firmly in place and also reveals the dark side of religiosity and crisis situations arising trough involvement ones worldview into the relationship between social worker - whatever party worker or client is believer. The paper endeavors to answer the question whether and, if so, to what extent can social worker affect the service to his religious beliefs. Pitfall of religiosity in social work lies in the fact that the social worker can access to his task as a religious mission, more or less consciously can put pressure on the client (or colleagues) to accept his understanding of the world, to profess the s ame values and even in the same manner. The social worker has considerable power over the client, legitimate one, arising from his position, expert power and especially power resulting from source control. In order to set limits to the social workers power in favor in clients, codes of ethics have been created, such as the Code of Ethics of Social Workers of the Czech Republic.
